This 1977 Ford Maverick project had a personal destination. After the work, Jay drove the car 5,000 km to Nova Scotia to give it to his dad.
Gauge update and mechanical work
At AMR Automotive, the ODG LED instrument cluster was fully installed and tested. The photos show the original gauges, the old and new assemblies, the dash opening, and the new cluster fitted to the blue bezel.
The mechanical work also included a new distributor pickup, spark plugs and wires, and a tune-up. The radiator was sent to City Wide Radiator in Calgary for repair.
Keeping the Maverick’s character
The paint was touched up while retaining its patina. DeGreeve Auto Upholstery in Calgary handled the new vinyl roof, beltline work, package tray and front-seat upholstery.
We were happy to help Jay make this once-in-a-lifetime gift happen. It is a personal reason to keep a classic vehicle on the road.
