This Ford F-350 came to AMR Automotive in Calgary for a fuel system upgrade using a Marty’s Diesel Performance kit. The work replaced the truck’s stock fuel pump with an electric fuel pump.
What the upgrade involved
The installation involved removing the original pump, fitting the replacement pump and connecting the wiring. Fuel pressure and flow were checked as part of the installation. Correct installation and testing matter just as much as the choice of kit.
For a truck used for towing or hauling, a fuel system concern deserves a proper assessment before choosing an upgrade. The right approach depends on the engine, the existing system and how the truck is used. A performance kit should address a specific need rather than promise the same result for every vehicle.
