Very cold weather can reveal weaknesses in hoses, seals, gaskets and fluid lines. A small seep may become more noticeable as materials contract in sub-zero temperatures.
Leaks involving coolant, engine oil, power-steering fluid or transmission fluid can affect the system they belong to. Depending on the fault, low fluid levels may contribute to overheating, steering problems, shifting concerns or engine damage.
Tell the shop if you have noticed a new puddle, a falling fluid level or a change in how the vehicle operates. The appearance of a leak alone is not enough to identify the failed part.
