Shock absorbers help control suspension movement and keep the ride settled after a bump. When something feels different, a suspension inspection can help establish the cause.
Changes worth reporting
Tell the shop about repeated bouncing, a less settled ride, clunks or rattles, or uneven tire wear. Note when the symptom occurs and whether it began after a pothole impact.
These symptoms do not prove the shocks need replacing. Tires, mounts and other steering or suspension components can also contribute, so the system needs to be checked.
Inspect before choosing a repair
A useful inspection considers the shocks and their mountings alongside related components and tire condition. Repair decisions should follow what is found rather than a single symptom.
If your vehicle is bouncing, making suspension noises or handling differently, request an inspection at AMR Automotive in southeast Calgary.
