Regular maintenance helps you keep track of wear, service intervals and developing problems. It is easier to plan work when you know what your vehicle needs and when it is due.
Follow a schedule that fits your vehicle
Start with the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule. Oil, filters, tires and other service items have different requirements depending on the vehicle, its age and how it is used.
An inspection can also identify concerns outside the scheduled service list. Brake wear, tire damage, leaks and warning lights should be assessed on their own merits.
Keep a useful service record
Save records showing the date, kilometres and work completed. They make it easier to avoid duplicate work and explain your vehicle’s maintenance history when you sell it.
Tell the shop about new noises, changes in handling or starting problems, even if they happen only occasionally. Those details help focus an inspection.
