Some vehicle problems are easy to overlook because the car still drives. A damaged windshield, failed brake light, uneven tire wear or a brake concern deserves attention before it gets worse.
Visibility, lighting and handling
Windshield damage can affect visibility. Have it assessed rather than assuming every crack is only cosmetic.
Check exterior lights regularly. A failed brake light makes it harder for following drivers to see that you are slowing down.
Pulling, an off-centre steering wheel or uneven tire wear can be reasons to check alignment and related components. Tire pressure and tire condition should be considered too.
Report changes in braking
Grinding, vibration or a change in pedal feel calls for a brake inspection. If the vehicle cannot brake normally, stop driving and arrange assistance.
