We recently had the pleasure of working on a beautiful 1968 Mercury Comet in our Calgary shop. Like most classics, it came in with a few issues that needed attention, and we were happy to get this ride back to its best.
The brakes were soft, so we added a vacuum pump to boost braking performance and swapped out the worn brake hoses. The master cylinder had deteriorating seals and was leaking, so we replaced it with a brand-new one to restore full braking power.
We upgraded the fuel system by installing a new mechanical fuel pump and adding a backup electric pump for extra reliability. This way, the Comet is ready for any drive without worry.
To finish things off, we replaced the rear shocks with a fresh set of air shocks for a smoother ride and better handling.
As always, we used premium parts from Mopac Auto Supply to ensure quality and reliability. At AMR Automotive, we take pride in helping Calgary car owners keep their classic vehicles safe, strong, and running like new.

There’s something quietly reassuring about handing your keys to someone who knows your name and maybe even your truck. In an age of chain shops and faceless service bays, the local mechanic stands as a kind of last honest tradesman, the kind who still shakes your hand and means it.
Hot summer days can take a toll on your vehicle, especially when it comes to overheating. At AMR Automotive in Calgary, we help keep your engine cool and your car running smoothly all season long.
As temperatures rise, your vehicle’s air conditioning system becomes essential for a comfortable ride. But if it’s not properly maintained, that cool breeze can quickly turn into a hot headache. A simple seasonal A/C check can save you from unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs.

Calgary’s dry, arid atmosphere isn’t just tough on your skin, it can take a serious toll on your vehicle too. Low humidity and temperature fluctuations can cause essential fluids like coolant, oil, and windshield washer fluid to evaporate or degrade faster than expected. Keeping your fluids topped up is crucial for preventing overheating, ensuring smooth operation, and avoiding costly repairs down the road.
Car battery maintenance is essential for ensuring that your vehicle stays reliable and efficient. A well-maintained battery provides smooth starts, particularly in extreme weather conditions, and can help you avoid unexpected breakdowns.
